I was traveling and dancing in NYC and South Carolina when I got injured and needed to take time off. I moved back home and started taking classes at CDT and Tim offered me a job a few months later.     If you didn’t have to sleep, how would you spend your extra time?  Exploring more. Biking, hiking, visiting other places.    What is the worst job you ever had?  I worked service industry for a long time. That kind of job really wears on you.    What is the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?  A cartoonist   If you were a ghost where would you haunt and why?     What is the one thing you wish you were better at?  Singing.    What animal would you be and why?  A cat. They have pretty comfortable lives and pretty much do whatever they want even if they have owners.

Elena Keeny studied at the Dayton Ballet School under the artistic direction of Dermot Burke. She later joined their second company and performed with the main company in all of the full-length productions and had the opportunity to work with many guest choreographers including: Septime Webre, Stephen Mills, and Christian Holder. Miss Keeny went on to train with The Joffrey Ballet School in New York City for two seasons under the direction of John Magnus. She also performed as a guest artist with Les Grandes Ballets Canadiens de Montreal for the touring production of the Nutcracker. After one season with The Charleston Ballet Theater, Miss Keeny returned to Columbus. At the Columbus Dance Theatre she originated the role of Rose in the critically acclaimed production of Claudel. Elena is excited to be returning for her seventh season.
