Columbus Dance Theatre is excited to celebrate its 25th anniversary season, ABLAZE. CDT will open its season in October with its longtime staple, Dancers Making Dances, once again collaborating with visual and musical artists in the community to bring an evening of a visually spectacular fusion of art forms to the stage. CDT will open its space to showcase participating visual artists with a gallery of their works prior to the show. Shows will be performed at CDT’s J. Nick Marzella Family Theatre located at 592 E. Main St Columbus OH, 43215 on October 6th-8th, 2023.
Returning to the Riffe Davidson Theater, CDT’s new holiday ballet based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale, The Snow Queen, Wonderment will be performed December 2nd at 3:00 and 8:00pm. It will once again be presented with live music, produced by Converging Arts Columbus, a chamber music group led by Jason Hiester. Join us in celebrating the Holidays with joy and light at the Riffe, 77 S High St. Columbus, OH 43215.
Save the date, February 10th as CDT brings back Chance to Dance: All Star Event as it’s annual benefit event. CDT’s company dancers will once again dance with returning volunteers from the community to present a short performance of duets during an evening of drinks and light hors d’oeuvres.
For the third show of the season, Columbus Dance Theatre will bring back Experiment II, an evening of new choreographic works by Artistic Director, Seth Wilson, and Executive Director, Jaime Kotrba. Join us at CDT’s J. Nick Marzella Family Theatre on April 19th-21st.
Rounding out our season, CDT will present Firebird, at the historic Lincoln Theater, 769 E. Long St. Columbus, OH 43203. Set to the original Stravinsky score, CDT directors will debut a new take on an old ballet classic, June 1st at 3:00pm and 8:00pm.
