2018-2019 Auditions

Columbus Dance Theatre, a contemporary ballet company, professional training school, and arts presenter located in Columbus, Ohio announces auditions for male and female Company and Apprentice positions for the 2018-2019 Season. CDT will enter its 21st season as it completes another critically acclaimed year, including winning the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artistic Excellence Award for its production of Claudel.

Columbus Dance Theatre performs in its home theatre, The Fisher Theater, and in the Lincoln Theatre and other venues throughout central Ohio and the United States. CDT produces the work of its Artistic Director and resident choreographer Tim Veach as well as the works of other contemporary choreographers. 

The CDT season begins in September and continues through the end of May. Contract offerings are based on experience and include unpaid and paid Apprentice positions as well as paid Company positions. Dancers work 5 days each week with 3-4 hours of rehearsal daily in addition to Company ballet class. Apprentices perform in the Company repertoire. 

  • Auditions will be held at Columbus Dance Theatre, 592 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, february 24th, at 10:30 Am.*

*Arrangements can be made if individuals are unable to attend during this audition time. Strong consideration is given to dancers who attend the February audition.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years for Apprentice consideration and 18 years for Company consideration
  • Strong ballet technique required. Women: pointe required. Ability to move in a variety of contemporary styles is beneficial.
  • Provide a head shot and/or full body shot as well as a detailed resume.
