2019-2020 Auditions

Columbus Dance Theatre, a contemporary ballet company, professional training school, and arts presenter located in Columbus, Ohio announces auditions for male and female Company and Apprentice positions for the 2019-2020 Season. CDT will enter its 22nd season.

Columbus Dance Theatre performs in its home theatre, The Fisher Theater, and in the Lincoln Theatre and other venues throughout central Ohio and the United States. CDT’s repertoire ranges from classical ballet, contemporary and modern.

The CDT season begins in September and continues through the end of May. Contract offerings are based on experience and include Trainee positions that work with the company and school, unpaid and paid Apprentice positions, as well as paid Company positions. Dancers work 5 days each week with 3-4 hours of rehearsal daily in addition to Company ballet class. Trainees and Apprentices perform in the Company repertoire. 

  • Auditions will be held at Columbus Dance Theatre, 592 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, March 16th, at 12:30 Pm.*

*Arrangements can be made if individuals are unable to attend during this audition time. Strong consideration is given to dancers who attend the February audition.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years for Trainee/Apprentice consideration and 18 years for Company consideration

  • Strong ballet technique required. Women: pointe required. Ability to move in a variety of contemporary styles is beneficial.

  • Provide a head shot and/or full body shot as well as a detailed resume.
