Trainee Program

Columbus Dance Theatre’s Trainee Program elevates a young dancer’s training to include the opportunity to take classes and participate in CDT’s Professional Company day. This opportunity gives the dancer the experience of working alongside the professional dancers in a professional ballet environment with a chance a three other performance opportunities throughout the year with the professional company.

The Trainee Program’s mission is to expand and refine the dancer’s technique as well as start to develop the dancer’s artistry and movement capabilities. Columbus Dance Theatre’s professional company is classical ballet based with repertoire ranging from classical ballet, contemporary ballet, contemporary, modern and jazz. Working closely with the Artistic Director, Executive Director and guest choreographers expands the range and experience of the young dancer preparing them for either college level dance programs or professional dance companies.

Columbus Dance Theatre’s directors provide mentorship during their trainee year(s) to help guide them through their dance career whether that includes college, professional companies, teaching or CDT’s own professional company.
