Caitlyn Zeferino

Caitlyn Zeferino started dancing at the age of 13 at this tiny competition studio in North Carolina.  She soon realized that the weekly ballet class that they offered was the one class she looked forward to the most, and wanted to get more intensive training.  This led Caitlyn to audition for the Hendersonville Ballet pre-professional company. They gave her a spot in their company and she went on to dance there for 5 years before attending a four week summer intensive at Ballet Conservatory of Asheville, where she was offered a scholarship at the end of the program and accepted it. For the next year, Caitlyn trained with Gavin Larsen (editor of Pointe Magazine, former Oregon Ballet Theatre Principal), and Nadia Iozzo (Former Principal at Kansas City Ballet).  Their training was invaluable to her career.  They pushed her to do a master audition for 14 ballet schools at the same time, where she got into 12, with 6 offering scholarships.  Caitlyn chose to accept BalletMet's offer and moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio.

After a season with BalletMet, Caitlyn took an open adult class taught by one of CDT's own company members (Joey Duncan) and she recommended her to audition for CDT. She took her advice and was offered a trainee position for the season!

Caitlyn can't wait to dance with these lovely people this season!
